    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Yamal's previous contract only ran until the end of the season but the Catalan side have ensured he will remain at the club for the time being, tying him to a new deal that runs until 2026.

The club will make an official announcement and hold a formal ceremony where Yamal will put pen to paper on Monday, October 2.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Yamal made his Barcelona debut in La Liga towards the end of last season. At just 15 years old, that made him the youngest player to feature for the club's first-team. This season, he went on to become the youngest starter in the club's history and the youngest to supply an assist.

He also became the youngest player to ever represent and score for the Spain national team and then broke the record for the youngest player ever to score in a Euro qualifier.
